One week later and people are still telling me “Happy New Year”, so why not give you this lil’ bit exactly one week after January, 1, 2017.
This was personally one of my best years. For starters I launched this blog and WOW it has truly been a blessing. It has not only been a creative outlet, but has also taught me discipline and the difference between quality and quantity. When I first launched I was super focused on posting content once a week no matter what and in this year if it’s not 100% what I want it to be, it will wait. I want to give #FeedHerStyle the dedication it deserves.
Peep this throwback (blurry pic) of my first homepage, lol!
If you know me or read my About Me page, you know I liveeeee for concert and festivals. Welp, this year, I concert/festival hopped and went to Curlfest, BeautyconNYC, The Formation World Tour (BEYHIVE STAND UP!!!!! *insert one gazillion bee and lemon emojis), Broccoli City Festival, Roots Picnic, Afropunk Festival, The Saint Pablo Tour, and The Bad Boys Reunion Tour (on Biggie’s birthday). Yes, I like music and vibes...a lot.
My bestfriend and I went Jamaica!
Below in the first picture is Shiona (Baeona) Turini and I at The Cut's career panel. She was the stylist for Beyonce's Formation video and Solange's “Don’t Touch My Hair” and “Cranes” videos. So basically I’ve also touched the Knowles’ sisters…kinda. The second image is me covering for the Plitz Marketing fashion show during #NYFW. Maybe one day I'll be covering the shows in Paris. #goals. Last one is baby's first feature lol. Ya girl's fries and awesome iPhone pic taking skills landed her in the Essence magazine November issue. Click here to view more details about these three opportunities.
I am believing God for the impossible this year for me, my brand, my family & friends and you all who read and support me! I've set some personal goals and looking back on 2016 I was beyond blessed to experience the things I did. I don't know what God has in store for me in 2017--but I'm excited!
"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Selah. (Pause and think on that.)
