Fruits

I went to a church fellowship earlier today and there was an icebreaker involving the fruits of the Holy Spirit that really got me thinking. Everyone was challenged to meet new people, mingle, and ask them how they demonstrated one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit in the past week.

For those who don't know, the fruits of the Holy Spirit are love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, self control, patience, kindness, and faithfulness. Although I was able to think of a few things, I was not that impressed with myself. It's because I am proud to call myself a good person, but am I making an impact or am I just staying out of the way and calling myself a good Christian? I would love to demonstrate each or at least most of these things everyday. WWJD is a real question I should ask myself whenever I'm going through something unfavorable or if I'm being tested for a greater purpose.

Striving to be a better person involves helping others and having the power to influence. Not only will it benefit others, it will also benefit you! This week I want challenge you show God's love using the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Are you about that action?

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. "

Galations 5:22-23 (NIV)

Selah. (Pause and think on that.)
