New Beginnings

Hey guys, welcome to my self care challenge! #25DaysofFitmas is about all things self care. We’re tackling it all from fitness, diet, skin/body care, travel, and more! And yes you read it correctly, twenty-five days..that means 25 days of content! Can you believe it? We are going to create some healthy habits BEFORE January 1, 2018, so stick with me friends. This is something I've been wanting to do for a while and I'm honestly overjoyed I get to share it with you all!

You ready? *Bey voice*

It’s Day 1 AND it’s Friday, so of course I’m coming correct with a #FitnessFriday workout. Try to complete this workout, or your own variation at least 4-6 days a week. This is in fact a  "Paige approved" workout, in case you were wondering.

Paige, @paige_mariah, is a lifeSTYLE blogger from Chicago who recently changed her lifestyle by eating cleaner and exercising to look leaner ;). She created the challenge pictured below and although hers began a few days ago, we're going to join her now lol.

I know not everyone is on the same level so you can modify almost everything, but don’t cheat yourself, you still should break out a sweat!

Warm up: The goal is to get that heart rate up and warm up the body so, we’re gonna start with a slow jog on the treadmill for 2 minutes or walk for 2 minutes on highest incline

Workout:

  • Kettlebell swings (3 sets of 15 reps)

  • Mountain climbers (50 seconds with 10 second rest, 45 seconds with 15 second rest and 30 seconds with 30 second rest)

  • Bicep curls (right arm, left arm, that's 1. 3 sets of 15 reps)

  • Lunges (right leg and left leg, that’s 1. Do 15 of these and then see if you can do the same with side lunges)

Cool Down: This allows the body to gradually transition to a resting state. End your workout with a 2 minute walk on the treadmill at 2.5 mph

Please note that you can swap these exercises out as you'd like but try to keep one weighted exercise in between the non weighted exercise, so it's every other until your cool down.

Let's try our best to also cut these foods/drinks out because the sugar and sodium levels in them attribute to weight gain. You finally want abs? Welp, it starts in the kitchen. I'm preaching, but also I need to get in line and follow through myself lol. Please remember #25DaysofFitmas is not about weight loss, but it is to reclaim your time, feed your soul, and treat your body like a temple. Let's stay connected (@themalnicole) and make it to the finish line together! See you tomorrow :)
