This is not a think piece, but encouragement for us to come together and be each others strength. It's so hard to be strong and continue to pray for a difference when the SAME. THING. KEEPS. HAPPENING. and no, we're not okay. Mentally, having to go through this time and time again is stressful and we need outlets. People really don't know what to do and don't know how to express themselves. We celebrate Independence day and then watch a black man get brutally shot by police on CNN the following day. Whewwww. Praying, spreading awareness through social media and talking about solutions helps me a lot. It's a struggle.... and to quote Kendrick, "but if God got us, we gon' be alright." I'm remaining positive that there will one day everyone will realize that #BlackLivesMatter
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. (Isaiah 40:29)
Lord, we need you. Our hearts are heavy and we're desperate for peace. I pray for this nation and I pray that justice will be served on behalf of Alton Sterling and Philando Castille and their beautiful families. Put your arms around them as they grieve. Keep us all strong and help us to strengthen our brothers and sisters. Amen.
Last night, this video was retweeted on my Twitter timeline with a caption "TL needs this again right now." ...and I did.
Pause and think on that (Selah).
