Sometimes opportunities I don’t want come my way and my response is "It's gonna be a no for me, dawg" , but then later I realize that it could have benefited me. Which kind of reminds me of that joke where the man is drowning and he asks God to save him, and his reply to all the rescue sent his way was "God will save me" ..then he dies and asks God why he wasn't saved from drowning and God replied "I sent you a rowboat and a motorboat and a helicopter, what more did you expect?" You don't know how, where, or when God will show up and honestly you don't know who in your life he will use for confirmation. You think if you ask God to help you to trust Him and His plan for you future more He will give you an instant burst of trust or the opportunity to trust Him? I got this from Evan Almighty, but it applies to my life! Don't judge me. Proverbs 3:5-6 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. This doesn't mean we're supposed to lay back, chill and say "God's got me"..no, you have to put in work too.
Do you know how furious I was when I first saw this picture? Like, mannnn it is so true lol. You really think the road to success WITH God is gonna be sweet, but nah. Whenever I was going through anything financially, emotionally, or spiritually I used to think to myself "Why is this happening to me? I'm a good Christian girl", but tah! It ain't enough. Ultimately, God is God and He won't put you through anything you cannot bear "cues "More than I can Bear by Kirk Franklin* . It's actually kinda awkward when you ask God to forgive you for doubting Him lol. Too many times in my life I never wanted to pray "God, if this isn't for me, don't let me have it" because I was content and afraid of change. What if God took away something I've worked so hard for? It's terrifying to think about, but I always remember that His plan is greater than mine. Whenever you feel lost about direction, pray...but don't ever pray AND worry. Choose one.
Pause and think on that. (Selah)
